VALKENBURG WELLNESS TOUR

Valkenburg is clearly taking its role in the wellness world very seriously and recently got top chefs in to add to the universe of wellness. There was trout from the Ardennes, pikeperch with creamed wild parsnips, a tempura of smoked eel from the Meuse, roast pigeon with ravioli [made of all sorts of things I’m not going to mention here. Ed], venison and mushrooms, creamy salsify with Livar pork, and a lolly made of Val-Dieu cheese with banana bread and an apple treacle dressing; all good, local food. A walk through the town, a visit to the Thermae 2000 Spa, a trip by horse-drawn cart, a wine and water arrangement, and coffee and chocolates.
