GKD MD ON CHINA STATE VISIT

Dr. Stephan Kufferath, Managing Director of the technical weaving company GKD, was a member of the 25-strong business delegation, accompanying German chancellor Angela Merkel on her trip to China. GKD has had a presence in China since the 1980s. The company is officially recognized there, as a high-tech enterprise. On the chancellor’s trip to China and Japan, she was accompanied, in addition to the business delegation, by members of the German parliament and the Minister of Culture Bernd Neuman. The underlying theme of the visit was the development of an open dialogue and of economic relations between Germany and China.
