CENCO LIEGE WORLD LEADER
[BIZ: Liège, August 19] In 2003 Techspace Aero repurchased Pratt and Whitney's Cenco. The company was in difficulty, was turned into Cenco International, a specialist in test benches for aircraft engines. Now, Cenco has increased its revenues by a multiple of ten, it employs 100 (half of whom are in the US), and this makes the Liège company world leader in engine testing. Recently, the company set-up an entirely new open air test cell for aircraft engines 350km north of Moscow and will soon be delivering the biggest test cell in Europe, capable of dealing with the Airbus A380 engine in Germany. the next target is to produce test cells for any type of industrial turbine; Liège’s potential has not been exhausted.
Cenco International is a Liège company. It started in business in 1949 at the Fort of Liège and was concerned with the maintenance of aircraft engines including the Belgian F-16s. CENCO designs turn-key aero and industrial gas turbine engine test cells, prep facilities and associated ground support equipment and services for commercial aviation, military aviation and power generation industries.
