HEIJMANS CLEANS UP OLYMPICS
[BIZ: London, July 6] The preparation of the East London site for layout and construction involves a huge amount of decontamination work.
Heijmans Blackwell Remediation Ltd. (HBR) has been contracted to carry out a major soil decontamination project to prepare for the construction work for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. On the north side of the future Olympic site in Stratford (East London), HBR will process around 600,000 tons of contaminated soil. The contract is worth EUR 7.9m. and is scheduled to start in September and due to be completed by late 2008 for the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA), which is responsible for all the work required to put on the Games.
