TESSENDERLO SELLS FLAVORS

[BIZ: Tessenderlo, June 16]
Tessenderlo Group has just sold its flavoring and food ingredients activity to the French company Nactis, which specializes in flavorings and food ingredients. The sale is in line with Tessenderlo Group's new strategy focusing on three development axes.

As part of the business unit "Gelatin" of Tessenderlo Group, "PB Gelatins France" specializes in the formulation and production of food flavoring ingredients intended mainly for the delicatessen and cooked foods industry.

The company, based at Furdenheim near Strasbourg, achieved revenue of EUR 12.5m with a total workforce of 42 in 2006. The entire staff will move with the company.

As the only plant in Tessenderlo Group to produce food ingredients, this French subsidiary was no longer thought to form part of Tessenderlo Group's core business.

This transaction will generate a non-recurrent profit of EUR 2.2m, which will be included in the consolidated results of Tessenderlo Group for the second quarter of 2007.
