UMICORE INTO HEAT PUMPS

Umicore is going to set up a new heat pump power station in Olen. The materials technology group has signed an agreement to this purpose with the Olen copper processor Cumerio. The investment is worth EUR 18m and the installation should be ready to go in January 2009. This is a long-term contract. The project will be run by Umicore and will mean considerable reduction in CO2 emissions.
