WALLOON CABLE SALE
[BIZ: Brussels, May 18] This move towards integration is, however, proposed for next year because a whole range of official approvals have to be acquired first. The transaction is opposed by Telenet, which wants to register a protest with the Council of State.. VOO says that it’s prepared to work with Telenet in a number of areas; Telenet says that it’s open to suggestion with the proviso that its rights are respected.
The problem of selling Walloon cable companies is to be solved. The group is going to be taken over by Ale and Brutélé for EUR 464.5m. Ale and Brutélé, under the name VOO, with the eight cable companies, will create a business providing the whole of Walloon Region with digital television, broadband internet and telephony.
