BIGGEST SOLAR PANEL PLANT

[BIZ: Heusden-Zolder, May 10]
The Glas Ceyssens company in Heusden-Zolder has the largest solar panel plant in Belgium. The installation has 2,000 solar panels with which, according to CEO Dirk Ceyssens, the company can provide all of the energy it requires. The solar panels are not just on the roof of the plant, but on the sloping roof of the parking lot at the back of the site.

The unit provides a top power of 350KW. Excess electricity is sent back to the network and will be distributed as green power to the network by the supplier Nuon. The plant can produce 300,000KW of electricity annually. This is the equivalent of the annual consumption of 100 families. The solar power construction also reduces CEO emissions by 228 tons per annum.
