BIO-METHANE PLANT

Twenty-one agriculturalists from Lontzen, Bleyberg, Welkenraedt and Baelen want to build a major bio-methane plant in Henri-Chapelle. This would use waste but also sugar beet from Lontzen and in the mid term should produce 4,000MW of power, which means power for 1,200 households. At the same time, from the Aubel country, where there are a lot of slaughterhouses and meat processing plants including Détry, there are similar plans. They have put these on hold for the meantime.
