EUROPEAN PATENTS
[BIZ/SCI-TECH: Aachen, April 27] A parallel conference Patinnova, with 600 participants, was designed to help businesses with protecting their inventions. AGIT was present and representing technology-oriented start-ups. Havva Coskun, area manager responsible for advice to technology-oriented businesses made a presentation.
There was a meeting in Munich at the European Patent Office on April 18 and 19, where they discussed the issue of a European patent. In the context of the meeting, the Marchant Report, which is to be the basis of an improvement of the patent situation for SMEs, was to be presented. A group of experts had prepared the report. Among the members of the group is AGIT, as the regional development company. It is the sole representative of Germany that has made a contribution to the content of this report. The objective is to discover the real problems of SMEs and inventors. The report shows what support SMEs require from public service organizations.
