RECORD YEAR FOR MACINTOSH

2006 was a record year for the Macintosh Retail Group, with a rise in net profits from EUR 32.9m to EUR 46m (up 40%). There was also the acquisition of the shoe discounter Scapino (216 stores) on February 1 and additionally, the opening of 57 new stores and the closure of 20 stores engaged in continuing operations. Macintosh Retail Group’s total revenue was up by 20.3% to EUR 983.8m, revenues on continuing operations up by 28.3% to EUR 914.5m and net profit up 40% from EUR 32.9m to EUR 46m. Earnings per share were up from EUR 1.50 to EUR 2.11.
