VCST INDIAN JOINT VENTURE

A car-part producer VCST Industrial Products from St.Trond has concluded an agreement with the Indian company Amtek Auto for a plant in India. Both partners will have an equal share in the new joint venture, Amtek VCST Powertrain. The new company will in the first instance focus on cogwheels and axels for applications in the automotive sector and production is exclusively for export. In the second phase the home market will be approached. The joint venture is expected to be operational in February next year. VCST Industrial Products has 580 staff; Amtek Auto has plants in Germany, the UK and the United States, in addition to India.
