ASPARAGUS SEASON OPENS

Curiously enough, this year’s asparagus season opened on April 12 in Amsterdam, on the canals. The opening is traditionally on the second Thursday in April and the idea was to give the season as much publicity as possible, and that is presumably why Amsterdam was chosen [why not Brussels or Paris?
