EUR 1.7M FOR BECONA

Becona NV in Diest is a new company run by Marc Kelchtermans (47) and his son Thomas Kelchtermans (21). The general manager is Gaston Lijnen. These three Limburg businessmen are targeting the construction industry, where they have developed a new revolutionary system for concrete formwork systems that are produced faster, safer, better and cheaper than the competition. They are expecting to employ 40 in the next five years. Becona has developed its own patented formworks system where every part of the frame is multi-functional, so they can be used as walls, columns and beams.

Start-up funding for Becona is EUR 1.7m and the Limburg Development Company (LRM) via KMOFIN is contributing a sum of EUR 350,000 to Becona by raising the capital in the business with a subordinated loan and warrants, and LRM gets 20% of the shares.
