UNDERGROUND GAS STORAGE

The underground storage of natural gas in Poederlee can start in 2012, according to a spokesman of Fluxsys. Fluxsys has a 25% stake in the underground storage project. The rest will be in the hands of the Russian gas producer Gazprom [See issue 138. ED.], but Fluxsys will run the site. This year a start will be made on the feasibility study but there is not yet certainty that the project can be carried out. Fluxsys is optimistic, but the financial details have not yet been made clear.
