SALE OF HABETS

BV Beheersmaatschappij MIH and Laumax BV have reached an agreement on the sale of all the shares of the Mechanische Industrie Habets BV to Laumax BV and the Limburg development company LIOF. It’s expected that the transaction will take place before the end of 2006. This takeover guarantees continuity of the business. LIOF is taking a 33% stake.

Mechanische Industrie Habets BV is a 62-year-old family company currently owned by Jan, Paul and Jos Habets. The business is primarily concerned with repairs and maintenance of major industrial machinery and currently is concerned with turning, milling, grinding, construction, welding and thermal spraying, and offers the best in the fabrication of machine parts out of superior quality metals, casting in ferrous and non-ferrous materials and the repair of precision parts. It employs 60.

The takeover is a management buyout. Arno Wendrich will acquire a majority stake in the business and will run it. Mr Wendrich has considerable experience in the metal processing industries and was director and shareholder of Axxicon BV in Eindhoven, which is a well-known company in the production of high-quality matrices.
