AVR, Shanks, Veolia and Sita and two other parties are in the running to takeover the Dutch waste processing company Van Gansewinkel. All the candidates will have to make a binding proposal by the beginning of September. Following the French companies Sita and Veolia Environment, Van Gansewinkel is the most important in the European environmental sector, but it has been looking for a partner since summer. Seventy-three percent of the company is in the hands of Leo van Gansewinkel. ING Corporate Investment has 20% and the staff hold 7% of the shares.
