PRYM’S IDEAS

Prym goes back to the XVIth century. At that time, nobody imagined that one day the turnover of the William Prym company would amount to more than one billion German Marks in 2001. In the XIXth century, Prym had developed the first finished products made of brass, iron and steel and, a little later, also manufactured the first metal haberdashery products to be made mechanically. With the development of mass production, the product range became more diverse. At the beginning of the past century the Prym brand was created and haberdashery items were among the first branded products to be sold.

Today, you can find Prym’s products everywhere: knitting needles, contact pins and high-tech components for microelectronics are just some of them. Brass and copper are still part of the New Economy in the 21st century.

Prym always a source of new ideas and now the company is taking part in the German Year of Ideas, where 365 places in the country are going to develop ideas in cooperation with the Deutsche Bank.
Prym is going to give a party and look for tangible innovative developments. There will be lots of new ideas in the workshops and a children’s program, which will meet all expectations. The things that we use in everyday life need Prym’s products and so Prym is going to hold a designer day, to show you how to make things yourself.

It is a time to exercise your own imagination, you can take along your old jeans or your denim jacket and there will be some restyling options available. Jewels, belts, hand bags, fashion ideas, designer cloths can all play a role. And the children will be able to learn some new tricks too. There will even be chess and something for the children to eat.

It all started off with the World Football Cup and the idea that lots of companies have ideas, particularly one whose history goes back so far. It is all happening on December 2 and 3 with gastronomy, stalls with objects for sale, creativity an ideas workshop, things to keep the children amused, hobby’s and an auction of some of Pryms most attractive objects.
