WALLOON ECONOMY DOING WELL

The Walloon economy has produced its best results this year since the year 2000, according to research by the Walloon Employers Association (UWE). Unfortunately, the unemployment figures continue to rise as a result of the entry of a large number of unqualified people on the labor market and the lack of consistency in economic growth.

The unemployment problem can only be solved if there is economic growth of at least 3%, according to Vincent Reuter of the UWE. The UWE also says that recent political scandals in the Walloon Country have had a bad effect on the confidence of employers and the UWE would like to see structural reforms in order to improve the labor market and to reduce the costs of employers and thus promote employment.
