SPE REMOVES CITYPOWER

[BIZ: Liège, November 3]
SPE is taking its energy brand Citypower off the market. This company, with 150,000 customers, will receive a contract from Luminus,; it will cost EUR 6-8 more. SPE says that the Belgian market is too small for two such similar products. In the contract the production price is included in the price with Luminus, says SPE, although this was not the case with Citypower. Customers can also move without charge to another supplier.

Fifty-one percent of SPE is in the hands of Segebel and 49% in the hands of Spebel. Segebel represents private shareholders in Gaz de France and Centrica. Spebel is the vehicle that the municipalities and inter-communal organizations have used for their interests in SPE.
