SCHEUTEN TO AVANTIS

Scheuten Solar in Venlo wants to build a EUR 150m sun cell plant at the Avantis Science and Business Park, if it receives a EUR 22.5m subsidy from central government in The Hague. MD Leon Giesen of Scheuten Solar has noted that the subsidy will be decisive in the establishment of the plant in at Avantis. In addition to Avantis, Scheuten has also applied for a subsidy at Gelsenkrirchen in Germany. The new plant will provide work for 500 running through to 1,100 by 2012.
