DE LIJN BOSS FOR ELIA

The Board of Directors of Elia has selected Ingrid Lieten, general manager of the public transportation company De Lijn, as an independent director. She follows on Hilde Laga. The Board will propose to Elia’s General assembly of shareholders on 9 May to confirm her appointment.

Ingrid Lieten has been general manager of the Flemish public transportation company De Lijn since 2002. She is also a member of the board of directors of TV Limburg and a member of the Executive Board Committee and of the Corporate Management Commission of the International Union of Public Transportation - ’Union Internationale des Transports Publics’ (UITP). She is vice-president of the Belgian Union of Town and Regional Public Transportation - Belgische Vereniging voor Gemeenschappelijk Stads- en Streekvervoer (BVGSSV), a member of the managing committee of Beheersmaatschappij Antwerpen Mobiel and a director of De Scheepvaart nv.

The Board of directors of Elia counts twelve directors, half of whom are independent. The independent directors are, next to Ingrid Lieten, Clement de Meersman, Jean-Marie Laurent Josi, Jacques de Smet, Luc Van Nevel and Thierry Willemarck. 40 % of Elia’s shares are traded of the Euronext stock exchange in Brussels (free float).
