CANADIANS CHASE TELENET BIZ

The Canadian cable and media company Cogeco, active in Meuse-Rhine, is going to compete with the Mechlin-based telecom company Telenet with a view to participation in Walloon cable companies. The Canadian company is active in French-speaking Canada, which is why its interested in Belgium. The Walloon cable sector has extensive plans for digital television and for the sale of telephony and broadband Internet on a major scale are also among the future options.
