EMPLOYMENT UNIT EX FORD JOBS

Forty percent of the workers who were collectively dismissed two years ago from Ford in Genk have managed to find jobs. A great part of them have found jobs in the SME sector. This was revealed by the figures from the Ascento employment bureau, which set up a special unit to assist the 3,141 dismissed workers. Half of these went into the project and 74% of that group is now employed, 6.8% have been pensioned off or started new training programs, and 19% are being assisted by the Flemish Employment Service (VDAB).
