[BIZ: Maastricht, February 2] The Fine Food Fair was distinguished by the presence of the ‘Limburg Square’, which presented a number of superb local products including: Limburg’s own mozzarella, produced by a company in Horst with its own herd of water buffalo - Farmhouse Products BV; good liquor from the Ijsvogel in Arcen; preserves from De Auw Stoof (raspberry, rhubarb, sour apples), and fig and aubergine chutney, shallots and red wine, fennel, and saffron all the way from Ulestraten. With the introduction of the new market hall to be at the center of the new market forum ‘Mosae Forum’ in Maastricht, Limburg products will be center stage — a delight for the eye and for the palate! Next year the fair will be held from January 22 to 26 at the MECC.
The BBB catering fair and the European Fine Food Fair, which were held for the 52nd and 12th times respectively, were a success. There was also the annual award of the prestigious Columbus trophy as well as the HotelloTop conference where hundreds of former students of international hotel schools were present.
