BLOKKER IN CAR LEASING

Jaap Blokker, of the Dutch Blokker retail chain, has paid EUR 20m for a 5% stake in the Athlon car leasing company in Belgium. Blokker, who also runs Bart Smit, Intertoys, Markramer, and Xenos chains, bought this stake. In the past Blokker have put money into Vendex, Beter Bed, and Macintosh retail chains and now he has invested outside the retail sector in real estate with Westersuyke and cable maker TKH.
