86.6M T-MOBILE SUBSCRIBERS

Rufus Jay of Informa writes to say that T-Mobile International has increased its subscriber base by 11.6% year on year to stand at 86.6 million as of end 2005.
In its home market of Germany, T-Mobile's subscriber base increased from 27.5 million from last year to 29.5 million as of end December. Of the 2.1 million signed up subscribers, 40% opted for a contract. T-Mobile USA added 4.4 million subscribers, with 1.4 million net additions in Q4, 2005 alone, to bring its total subscriber base to 21.7 million as of end December.
In Q 4, 2005, T-Mobile UK added 845,000 subscribers and its subscriber base increased 9.1%, year on year, to 17.2 million as of end December. T-Mobile will publish its Q4/ 2005 financial results on March 2.
