DOCTORS’ EUR 17M IN Q-PARK

[BIZ: Maastricht, January 23]
Doctors Pensions Funds Services is a new partner among the European parking giant Q-Park’s shareholders. It has taken over the share package of ENTERO, a subsidiary of the ING bank. Doctors Pension Fund Services is the operational organization for the pension fund for GPs and medical specialists. The pension and equity fund is part of two funds (SPH and SMPS) and the organization manages a total of EUR 11bn.

ING is selling its ENTERO share in Q-Park because it already has a holding in Q-Park via its real estate branch ING Vastgoed Fondsbelegging BV, ING Vastgoed Ontwikkeling BV, and the Stichting Pensioenfonds ING. The fact that the GP and medical specialist pension fund has joined the shareholders strengthens confidence in the business and its strategy. The investment involved is around EUR 17m.

Shareholders are concerned with long-term investments and want to invest in a strong company in the parking sector, which is expected to continue to grow in Europe in the coming years. ‘As a parking business we are looking for long-term positions in major European cities at airports, train stations, and hospitals,’ says Ward Vleugels, the chairman of the board at Q-Park.
