GOOD YEAR FOR TIHANGE

The nuclear power plant at Tihange has had a good year, achieving its third highest score since 1975 when the first reactor went into service, a period in which they have generated 500bn kWh, the Walloon country’s energy requirements for 25 years. It is also [as we mentioned earlier, ED.] investing EUR 20m for a new cooling system that deals with 35,000 liters of water per second, cooling them before they enter the Meuse or piping them back to be used in the production of electricity.
