FRANS MAAS: NISSAN SPARES

[BIZ/LOG: Venlo, January 4]
Koninklijke Frans Maas Groep N.V. and Nissan have started implementing a three-year contract signed by the two parties last year with the opening of Frans Maas’ new logistics distribution centre in the Russian Federation.

Frans Maas will provide a complete package of logistics services to supply spare parts to Nissan dealerships. It will consist of daily shipment of spare parts from Amsterdam to
Moscow, related customs clearance and administration, storage at the logistics centre in Istra (near Moscow), followed by the daily delivery of parts to Nissan dealers in Russia and a special airfreight service for urgent supplies.

The contract with Frans Maas will reduce Nissan’s delivery time to Russian dealerships from three weeks to three days. The service is underpinned by Frans Maas’ expertise
and experience in logistics in combination with a local logistics infrastructure, qualified staff and knowledge of local legislation and regulations.

In Istra, 50 kilometres from Moscow, Frans Maas has built a modern distribution centre with a storage capacity of 10,000 m2 . Of this capacity, 6,000 m2 is dedicated to Nissan.
Twenty-five people are working on this project. To meet the growing demand for logistics services in the Russian Federation, Frans Maas will expand its logistics storage capacity significantly during 2006.

Through its exclusive alliance with STS, Frans Maas is represented in more than 25 cities in the Russian Federation and CIS countries.
