JETAIR AND THOMAS COOK IN LIEGE
[BIZ/LOG: Liège, December 22]
Liège Airport wants to see an increase of 15% in passenger traffic next year. This is due to the increase in capacity of tour operators. The number of destinations will rise from 16 to 22 and the frequency on existing routes will also rise. Two major Belgian operators Jetair and Thomas Cook are the most important clients at the airport, but Généraltour is starting flights to Istria (Croatia) with Dubrovnik Airlines. Thomas Cook is going to fly scheduled flights to Barcelona and Palermo twice a week. The airport in Liège has 84% Belgian passengers, 9% Dutch, and 5% French.
