Cycos reports strong Increase in Sales, creates new Jobs
– With an overall turnover of EUR 20.67 m Cycos reports the best business year in the company’s history. This specialist in professional Unified Communications solutions has met its growth targets for 2004/05, achieving a positive EBIT of EUR 1.41 m. At the same time Cycos has massively invested in new staff: 45 new jobs were created, with Cycos now employing a total of 207 people.
In 2004/05 the company’s strategic development focused on re-structuring sales, optimizing the indirect sales channel and expanding the partner network. A number of strong, new sales partners were gained, both in the German home market as well as internationally. The company’s multi-level partner enabling program helped to access new market potential, and to significantly increase the reach of Cycos.
Cycos put sustained effort in further developing its unified communications suite mrs – message routing system; adding new features and routines ensuring that mrs is ready to meet future market demands. In the short to medium run mrs, therefore, is likely to also become increasingly attractive to small to medium businesses. To-date the solution is primarily deployed in large companies and the public sector.
Thanks to the extremely positive development achieved in the last financial year, Cycos is excellently positioned for further growth in the expanding market for professional unified communications solutions. In addition, Cycos for the first time plans to address the market for hosted communications solutions and services.
To ensure that the new partners and markets are optimally managed, Cycos considerably increased its sales and marketing force. Cycos also expects sustained competitive advantages from its massive investments in new R&D staff.
The overall turnover of Cycos AG increased from EUR 16.35m in the previous year to EUR 20.67m in 2004/05 (as of September 30, 2005). EBIT increased from EUR 0.97m in 2003/04 to EUR 1.41m. Cycos’ French subsidiary also achieved major growth, reaching a turnover of EUR 1.79m in 2004/05.
Jürgen Diller, CEO of Cycos AG, is convinced of the success of the company’s strategy: “Our last year’s growth distinctly exceeded the performance of the industry. Our huge investment in research and development, and particularly in new staff, therefore, has paid off very quickly.”
With more than 20 years experience in unified messaging and unified communications Cycos is one of the leading vendors in the field of corporate UM / UC solutions. Cycos’ core product mrs – message routing system – integrates fax, voicemail, email and SMS messages into one single solution (e.g. Exchange, Notes). This helps to optimize communications, with the option to make it part of existing CRM and ERP applications (incl. SAP). Thanks to specific multimedia routing functionalities mrs is also widely used in modern call centers and contact centers.
Today, Cycos counts an installed base of more than 1.6 million licenses, individual installations varying between less than 50 users in SMEs and more than 150,000 users in large enterprises. Unlike many competitors, Cycos benefits from mrs’ multi-platform capability, its excellent scalability and the consistent single server concept.
