ARCILLA SEEKS PARTNERS

[BIZ: Epen, December 16]
Arcilla, a research company in Epen, S. Limburg (NL) is seeking support in the Meuse-Rhine region for one or more technologies. It is of paramount interest for the company to find appropriate partners to create a demo shelter/house perhaps in Aachen with test work to be carried out by a University. Support can take the form of active participation or merely that of observer. All sectors are invited to join: business, government agency, NGO, institution, technical specialist, or consultant.

Below are summaries of the four proposals for which Arcilla is applying for funding from the World Bank.

The Energy Autonomous House: To combat the high cost of energy today it is proposed to design, manufacture, construct, and test an ‘energy autonomous house’. A key factor will be the SOLARAMIC system, providing year-round heating and hot water via solar energy.

The SOLARAMIC Desalination System: For countries that suffer from dependency on their water table, use of desalination plants to convert seawater into potable water is not widely popular due to high-energy consumption in operation. An energy-autonomous desalination system is proposed to tackle this high-energy problem.

The SOLARAMIC Mini Power Station: To reduce dependency of governments upon high-cost, non-sustainable energy (oil, gas, coal) resources for production of electricity, a solar energy powered ‘SOLARAMIC’ Mini Power Station is proposed.

The SOLARAMIC System for Alternative Energy: By using an infrared-sensitive metalloceramic material for conversion of a wide range of ‘waste’ into biogas or methane gas, the ‘SOLARAMIC’ system is anticipated to provide large amounts of low-cost energy, whilst producing a clean, natural fertilizer and a substantial quantity of a micro-mineral powder.
