GEFCO: NEW LIMBURG LOCATION
[BIZ: Genk, December 9]
The Gefco group plans to set up a new agency for its network activities in Eastern Belgium, according to the general manager Philippe Vincent for Gefco Benelux. Gefco is among Europe’s top ten logistics groups, a subsidiary of the PSA Peugeot-Citroen group present in 80 countries in the world, and produce revenues of EUR 2.9bn in 2004. It has a center in Eigenbrakel in Belgium and three agencies in Genk, and they are looking to set up something in Genk or Liège next year. “Our objective in the area is to develop our own commercial activities and to increase the volume of pickups.” In the first phase the implant could be with Gefco’s current partner Penxten-Mommen, but the long-term objective is to set up a 2,000m2 new building.
