TNT LOGISTICS FOR SALE

TNT is putting the greater part of TNT Logistics up for sale. The postal, logistics, and the express company announced this in a press release. The activities for sale are worth annual revenues of EUR 3.4bn. The sale is expected to be completed in the second half of 2006 and TNT has charged Goldman Sachs with the operation. The transaction will have to be approved by TNT shareholders and procedures will have to be in keeping with the competition authorities. TNT plans to retain some logistical activities in its portfolio, which produce revenues of EUR 300m a year. These are the In-Night activities and the hi-tech parts logistics.

TNT Freight Management, which produces annual revenues of EUR 800m, is an essential element in the network of TNT. This part ensures the connection between Asia and Europe and will not be part of the activities for sale, according to the press release.
