A COLONEL WITH A VIEW

[BIZ: Maastricht, December 6]
The new Colonel building has been opened by the project developers 3W. This major office building, next to Maastricht’s central station, is a cooperative project between 3W and Dutch Rail NS Real Estate and was designed by the Berlin architect Hans Kollhoff. It covers 18,000m2 on 14 stories and cost EUR 52m.

Initial talks began four years ago and now the building on the Stationsplein in the Wyck district of the city has rented out 70% of its space. 120 of Ernst & Young’s staff have been working there for the past six months. Beneath the building there is a parking garage for 300 cars and at the top floor there is a fabulous view over Maastricht.

During the opening ceremony a check worth EUR 50,000 was donated to Mr R. Knegt, Chairman of the Limburg Secondary School Board, by the tenants of The Colonel: 3W, Q-Park, ING Bank, and Ernst & Young for the international school.
