[BIZ: Cologne/Aachen, November 24] In the light of the development of capital markets in the years 2000 through 2003, a number of institutional investors, subject to regulation, such as insurers or pension-scheme companies, substantially reduced their risk class of equities. The equity fund "AMB Generali Euroland Protect Io" gives institutional investors the option of restarting investment in shares at a lower risk. By the use of hedging options it is possible to fix a minimum limit for the year-end fund price at the beginning of the year. This limit is used by the investor to determine the necessary amount of capital at risk. Fund strategy The fund strategy focuses on the control of the year-end fund price. The target is to limit the possible maximum price decrease of the fund to between -10 and -15 percent while simultaneously participating with the highest possible percentage in bullish share markets. This is ensured by AMB Generali Asset Managers is the fund company and asset manager of the AMB Generali Group, which includes companies such as AachenMünchener, Generali and Volksfürsorge Versicherungen. Currently the company has EUR 67 bn of assets under management. The portfolio is composed of EUR 2 bn of mutual funds, close to EUR 1 bn of third-party mandates and about EUR 64 bn of financial investments of the AMB Generali Group and of the international Generali Group.
