TRIANEL POWER PLANT IN TICINO

[BIZ: Aachen/Bellinzona, October 10]
The Aachen-based Trianel European Energy Trading company (TEET) has concluded a partnership agreement with the Azienda Elettrica Ticinese (AET) from Bellinzona in Ticino, the Italian-speaking canton of Switzerland. They agreed on an international trading partnership in the area of energy trading; the development of services for trade and business; the procurement of electricity and gas; the marketing of non-standardized energy products; the development of new production options and trade in regenerative energy.

This strategic partnership allows Trianel, already active in the European wholesale and business market, access to a further acquisition and business market. The key to this cooperation is participation in a feasibility study for the second Trianel power plant, to which Trianel will be contributing its know-how. With AET, Trianel will be expanding its European role. It already has partners in France, Spain, Belgium, Norway, and Austria. AET offers the option of further expansion in Europe.

The increasing internationalization of energy markets points to crossing borders as a decisive factor in the success of the business. AET, founded in 1958, is owned by the canton of Ticino and produces electricity. It is a wholesaler on the Swiss, German, and French markets and also indirectly an exporter to the Italian market.
