AVIAPARTNER GOES WITH 3I

The Belgian aircraft handling company Aviapartner officially passed into the hands of the British private equity company 3i last week. The completion of the transaction, announced in July (Issue 115) was expected at the end of August. The change led a new boss for Aviapartner in the form of Belgacom chairman and former Real Software chief, Theo Dilissen, who will be attempting to optimize the company and make it profitable; growth will come next. The takeover of Aviapartner is 3i’s first major deal in Belgium. [Although we have already reported on several others in this area - ABX Logistics and Docmorris to name two instances.] The price has not jet been revealed.
