EVS EXPECTS HDTV BREAKTHROUGH

EVS, the Liège-based broadcast equipment company, designs, develops, and markets professional digital equipment for radio, television, and the cinema. It has been in the high-definition TV business and live slow-motion recording for some years, and expects a breakthrough in television next year in Europe. It also expects the long-awaited start of digital cinema and major sporting events, like the football World Cup in Germany.

XDC, a subsidiary of EVS, is going to install 200 projectors this month, although this branch of the company is still losing money.
