VELDHOEN & CO SIGN WITH TBI

[BIZ: Maastricht, August 27]
Veldhoen and Company, an international advisory organization in Maastricht, and TBI, a construction and technology company from Rotterdam - with revenues of EUR 1.8bn in 2004 and more than 10,000 permanent staff, recently (end June), signed a declaration of intent to jointly set up a new enterprise as a new division of TBI. It will bring true innovation to the construction sector, integrating the chain from concept to implementation.

The vision of Veldhoen and Company will now be linked to implementation by the construction and Technology Company within TBI, with which sustainable relations are being developed.

“The complexity of the new scheduling of work processes can only be solved by an integrated approach”, says Erik Veldhoen, the founder and president of Veldhoen and Company and the guru of the ‘flexible office’. “Integration will go a step further as a result of this merger with TBI and its unique approach in the Dutch construction world”.

“The new style of work has a future in the Netherlands and TBI wants to contribute to the successful implementation”, said Gerd Jan Woudenberg, Chairman of the Board of TBI. “Veldhoen and Company is alone at the top in its innovative asset and our companies will be able to support this position in concrete terms. Then there is talk of a total integration of the construction chain”.

Veldhoen and Company has been helping organizations for 15 years with the innovation of their working processes, in which the buildings, IT and culture are put together. Buildings and working environments are designed afresh and the business is based on modern technology and a new business culture is created. The Velhoen model, ‘The new style of work’, has been applied successfully in a number of occasions. The Interpolis head office is an example. Implementation means lowering costs and raising production and a new culture.

The implementation of the model depends largely on third parties (architects, construction managers, contractors, installation companies and suppliers). Each project means working with other partners. The more efficient and better implementation of this ‘new style’ is being looked for in the new approach.

The declaration of intent will be formalized within a few weeks, after which the new company will become part of the TBI concern.
