ENCI NORTH DEVELOPMENTS

Friday August 26 plans were launched in Maastricht for the redevelopment of north hall at ENCI. The cement works in the city, built by the famous architect Peutz. This is part of the AINSI project (Art, Industry, Nature, Society and Innovation), which transforms industrial complexes into locations where cultural, economic and creative entrepreneurship are linked. The project is the first step in Maastricht’s ambition to develop creativity within the region. The projects will cost EUR 4m, EUR 950,000 of which will be invested by the city. 30 workshops of art and design will be developed in the building on levels two and three. The project was helped by the efforts of BOEi, which joined in 2004. In the coming three months agreements will be made and in 2006 a start will be made with redevelopment of the space, the building will be open for business at the end of 2006.
